India's UTV Motion Pictures is launching a second motion picture brand, Spotboy Motion Pictures, to be headed by Vikas Bahl, who was formerly business head of Indian broadcaster SAB TV.

Bahl, who has been appointed executive vice president of the new label, has also worked with indya.com, Radio Mirchi and ad agency Ogilvy.

'We are entering new markets and going international in the coming months, which made this the appropriate time for us to launch Spotboy Motion Pictures,' said UTV CEO Ronnie Screwvala. 'This brand will take over some existing projects but will largely develop its own fresh content.'

UTV recently announced that it will transfer all its worldwide film production activities into one of its overseas subsidiaries, which will move to be listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. At the time, Screwvala said that while the company would continue to make predominantly Indian titles he expected more than 50% of film revenue to come from international markets by 2009.
