Spain's Wanda Vision will handle international sales onMercedes Alvarez's award-winning documentary The Sky Turns (El Cielo Gira).

Thefilm, which has already sold to France's ARTE, was a surprise Tiger Awardwinner in Rotterdam and took home the top prize last weekend at Paris's Cinemadu Reel festival.

Wanda plans to release the title in Spanish theatres onApril 29 after it screens in the Spanish Film Festival of Malaga (April 22-30).Sky has also been invited to play in the documentary feature film competitionat the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival (April 19-May 1).

Thedocumentary, produced by Jose Maria Lara, follows first-time filmmaker Alvarezas she returns to the nearly uninhabited village where she was born 30 yearsago, the last child to be born in the village. One of the 14 remaininginhabitants is the painter Pello Azketa, now nearly blind.
