Warner Independent Pictures has signed a two-year, first-look deal with producer Anthony Bregman's New York-based production house Likely Story.

Likely Story was formed in 2006 and is currently in post-production on Carriers and The Sleep Dealer in association with This Is That, and in pre-production on Synecdoche, New York. The company is also casting It Is What It Is, scheduled to shoot this summer.

Bregman's producer credits include the upcoming The Ex, as well as Friends With Money, Thumbsucker, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and Lovely And Amazing.

'We're excited to be getting into the business of making movies with Anthony whose taste is really original. His films are always movies that we want to see,' WiP president Polly Cohen said.

'Warner Independent is an exciting place right now - Polly Cohen has pulled together a smart team with adventurous appetites,' Bregman said.

'We share a passion for original storytelling by innovative artists. We can't wait to start working together.'

The deal was brokered on behalf of Likely Story by UTA and attorney Craig Emmanuel.
