Wayne Borg has been appointed vice president, Universal Pictures, Latin America & Asia Pacific, effective 7th January 2003.

Borg is currently serving as managing director of Universal Pictures Australia/New Zealand. Previously a member of the senior management team of Warner Bros in the UK and Australia, Borg was appointed as MD of Universal Pictures Australia/New Zealand in May 2000.

During Borg's two-year tenure, Universal Pictures Australia/NZ has seen a 200% increase in revenues, as well as establishing Universal as market leader in the home entertainment sector.

Borg, will relocate from Sydney to London, taking up the vice presidential role in January 2003. His new responsibilities will be to oversee the management of Universal Pictures in the Latin America/Asia Pacific region, and ensure continued growth of Universal's home entertainment business, as well as local acquisitions. Borg will continue to manage his current responsibilities in Australia until the end of the year, with a simultaneous transition to his new regional role.
