The Weinstein Company has picked up US and Latin American rights to El Rey De La Montana, a world premiere in Toronto's Discovery section.

The film, sold by Paris-based sales house Coach14, also sold to Seville Pictures for Canada after having concluded deals with the UK's Optimum, Madman for Australia and New Zealand, Korea's Eureka Pictures and France's WildSide during Cannes.

Produced by Telecinco Cinema, Juanma Arance, Juan Pita, Miguel Bardem, Elena Manrique and Alvaro Augustin, the thriller is directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego and stars Leonardo Sbaraglia and Maria Valverde.

The US and Latin American deal was negotiated on behalf of the Weinstein Company by Maeva Gatineau and by Pape Boye and Jaume Domenech for Coach14.

The film will have its European Premiere will during the upcoming Sitges International Film Festival.
