MTG Media Properties, part of Sweden's Modern Times Group conglomerate, has upped its international expansion drive by appointing Michael Wiser as its new chairman and CEO.
Under Wiser, MTG Media is expected to increase its acquisition of contemporary English-language films and to buy companies involved in distribution, production and film library sales.
Wiser recently operated his own company Blue Suit Entertainment, which handled library sales of feature films to TV. He was previously co-founder of ACI Domestic Distribution and general sales manager of Blair Entertainment.
MTG has also hired Ken Dub as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Dub joins from MGM Domestic Television, having previously been sales head for Paragon Entertainment. The MTG collection contains some 350 film titles including Dirty Dancing, Conan The Barbarian and Ragtime.
