The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has named theeight pictures on the shortlist for the documentary short category.

The titles are: The Blood Of Yingzhou District; Dear Talula;The Diary Of Immaculee; Phoenix Dance; Recycled Life; Rehearsing A Dream; A RevolvingDoor; and Two Hands.

Academy voters will whittle the list down to between three andfive nominees that will be announced on Jan 23, 2007. The 79th Academy Awardswill take place in Hollywood on Feb 25.
