UK-based sales company Alibi Films International has acquired worldwide rights outside the UK and Eire to Sky Pictures' comedy The Most Fertile Man In Ireland.

The Samson Films and Hot Films production, currently in post, follows a young man who discovers he has the highest sperm count in Ireland. He becomes Lothario to half of Belfast - until his activities come to the attention of Protestant paramilitaries who are losing the demographic battle with their Catholic counterparts.

The film is directed by Dudi Appleton and stars Kris Marshall, James Nesbit, Bronagh Gallagher, Kathy Kiera Clarke, Pauline McLynne, Tara Lynne O'Neill and Toyah Wilcox. It is written by Jim Keeble and produced by David Collins.

Delivery is set for August, with Sky, the feature production arm of UK satellite broadcaster BSkyB, retaining rights in the UK and Eire. Sky has a first-look deal with News Corp stablemate 20th Century Fox for local distribution
