TheAmazonas Film Festival (Nov 26 - Dec 1) will open with ecological adventuretale Taina 2 - A New Amazon Adventure by Mauro Lima in Manaus, Brazil.

The filmis the story of a young Indian girl facing up to a dangerous gang who smuggle rare specimens of Amazon fauna.

Thefestival was created by Lionel Chouchan of Le Public Systeme which organizesthe Deauville, Cognac, Gerardmer and Marrakech festivals among others, anddirector Jean-Pierre Dutilleux.

Announcedat Cannes this year, the festival will be a mix of features and documentarieswith a skew towards adventure and ecological films. Nine competition features,18 ethnological and wildlife competition documentaries, two out of competitionfeatures and nine films in the Panorama section will screen during the event.

MarcForster's Finding Neverland will close the festival.
