Mark L Lester's American World Pictures has acquired international distribution rights to Night At The Golden Eagle, a US independent feature which opened on a limited release in New York and Los Angeles last weekend.

Produced by Steve Bing and Adam Rifkin through Shangri-La Entertainment, the film was written and directed by Rifkin (The Chase, Detroit Rock City) and stars Donnie Monemarano and Vinny Argiro alongside James Caan, Natasha Lyonne and Vinnie Jones.

A dark story about a convict who murders a young hooker in his hotel room on his first night out of jail and his attempts to cover it up. It will premiere in the Cannes market on May 17.

The deal was set up through Susan Jackson at Turtles Crossing, who is handling the domestic rights for Shangri-La, and brought into American World by Todd Olsson, executive vice president, acquisitions and distribution.
