Arclight Films has acquiredinternational rights to Albert Brooks' comedy Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World and will commence sales atthe AFM next week.

Brooks stars as a comedianworking for the US government who travels to India and Pakistan to discover what makes Muslims laugh.

Brooks directed and wrotethe project, which is financed by Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment,produced by Herb Nanas and Deepak Nayar and executive produced by JoAnnPerritano.

Warner Independent Picturesholds domestic rights and has scheduled a Jan 20, 2006 North American release.

"Albert Brooks and the teamat Shangri-La put together an amazing film," Arclight Films managing directorGary Hamilton said. "We are quite proud to be representing this to theinternational community."

Arclight Films' slateincludes the untitled Truman Capote drama starring Sandra Bullock and GwynethPaltrow that is set to be released through Warner Independent in September 2006and Greg McLean's horror title Wolf Creek.
