New York-based distributor Arthouse Films has acquired all English-speaking territories and French rights to documentary Rem Koolhaas - A Kind Of Architect.

Markus Heidingsfelder and Min Tesch direct the feature-length film about the famed architect.

The deal was negotiated by David Koh and Lilly Bright on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment along with John Flahive of UK-based Wavelength Pictures on behalf of the filmmakers and producers of the German production.

Arthouse plans to release the film later in 2008 or in early 2009, via its output partners Madman Entertainment in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, Revolver Entertainment in the UK, and Mongrel Media in Canada.

Koolhaas himself said of the film: 'It's the only film about me that I have liked'.

David Koh and Lilly Bright said: 'This is a fascinating portrait of one of the world's most renowned figures in modern architecture. The commercial audience and market and interest for art, architecture, and design is rapidly growing and maturing around the world. We are delighted to work with the filmmakers on the release.'

Arthouse's forthcoming titles include The Universe of Keith Haring, Obscene: a Portrait of Barney Rosset and Grove Press, Milton Glaser: To Inform and Delight and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
