Artisan Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to a collection of developmental video products for children ages 0-4 from The Baby Einstein Company. Simultaneously, Artisan took a minority interest in the company and has signalled its intention to grow the brand into a household name a la Barney or Sesame Street.

The agreement includes Baby Einstein's library of four 30-minute Video Board Books and its Concert For Little Ears series of audio titles which will be distributed by Artisan Family Home Entertainment (FHE). FHE already markets and distributes product from family brand names such as Hallmark, Discovery Networks, Crayola Presents and Cabin Fever.

Based in Littleton, Colorado, The Baby Einstein Company was founded by Julie Aigner-Clark to produce developmental media products for children.
