Francisco Matosas has been named president of publishing and media giant Grupo Zeta following the April death of Zeta founder and chief Antonio Asensio.

Asensio's son, Antonio Asensio Mosbah, will take over Matosas' position as vice president of the Group. Asensio, 53, passed away in Madrid on April 20.

Zeta publishes a varied portfolio of newspapers and magazines, and has interests in film, radio, internet and television. Asensio was one of the early shareholders in Antena 3 Television, later sold to Telefonica Media, and owns feature film production/distribution house Aurum Producciones, currently under the management of Zeta board member John Gibbons.
