Two Hands, produced by Marian Macgowan, won best film at the Australian Film Critics Circle Awards on March 3 but writer-director Gregor Jordan did not take home everything he was eligible for as he did at last year's Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards.

Instead, John Curran was judged best director for his work on Praise, and Christina Andreef took home the original screenplay award for Soft Fruit.

Sacha Horler again won best actress for her role in Praise, but the critics voted for Hugh Jackman in Erskineville Kings rather than AFI Award winner Russell Dykstra in Soft Fruit.

Run Lola Run was judged best foreign language film and The Thin Red Line was judged best foreign film in English.
