AV Pictures will handle the sales on Obsession after signing a deal with new London-based production company Corona Pictures.

The psychological thriller will be directed by Thaddeus O’ Sullivan (Ordinary Decent Criminal, The Heart Of Me).

Corona Pictures, launched last month, was founded by veteran producer Gary Kurtz, whose credits include Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, and indie producer Richard Johns along with former City mergers-and-acquisitions executive Rupert Jermyn and Julian Alcantara, previously of Universal Pictures.

Obsession has been adapted from Alec Coppel’s book A Man And A Dog and focuses on a Manhattan doctor who takes his wife’s love hostage and  contemplates killing him. It is currently casting and is due to go into production in Detroit and New York later this year or early next year. The project is produced by Johns and Jermyn.

Corona Pictures has recently struck a two-picture deal with writer-director Charles Dance who will direct The Last Hand, about the past and present lives of a Sixties gangster’s moll, and Last Chance Saloon, a country-and-western dance themed film set in the British Midlands starring Dolly Parton.
