LA-basedKatapult Film Sales closed a major Japanese deal at Berlin recently for itsmusic documentary Screaming Masterpiece with Avex in Japan.

Open Sesame helped to brokerthe deal which saw Avex take Ari Alexander Ergis' film about the contemporaryIcelandic music scene. The film, which was completed in Jan, and screened inBerlin, features such stars as Bjork, Sigur Ros and Quarashi.

Katapult also closed a Swissdeal with Monopole Pathe on its drama A Little Trip To Heaven, which marks the first English-language film forIcelandic director Baltasur Kormakur (The Sea, 101 Reyjkavik).

Katapult, which had alreadypre-sold to A-Film in Benelux and Sandrew Metronome in Scandinavia, screened 12minutes of the $9m film to buyers at Berlin. Sales chief Thomas Mai said thatthe final film will be completed by the autumn festival season.

Forest Whitaker, JuliaStiles, Jeremy Renner and Peter Coyote star in the English-language thrillerwhich is produced by Katapult partner Joni Sigvatsson.
