After an extended wait, theCannes Film Festival has announced the composition of the juries overseeing themain competition as well as various sidebars.

As previouslyannounced, the official competition jury will be presided over by director EmirKusturica. Joining him will be actors Javier Bardem, Salma Hayek and NanditaDas, directors Agnes Varda, John Woo, Benoit Jacquot and Fatih Akin as well asAmerican novelist Toni Morrison. Akin's Crossing The Bridge has a special out-of-competitonscreening.

The Un CertainRegard jury will be headed by American director Alexander Payne with actressBetsy Blair, Rotterdam festival director Sandra Den Hamer, journalists KatiaChapoutier and Genevieve Welcomme, director/screenwriter Gilles Marchandand critic Eduardo Antin making up the rest of the panel.

The Camera D'Orjury, which honors a first film, will be overseen by Iranian director AbbasKiarostami who will work with writer Patrick Chamoiseau, director MalikChibane, cinematographer Romain Winding and critics Scott Foundas and YvesAllion among others.

The Cinefondationand short films jury is presided over by filmmaker Edward Yang with Belgiandirector Chantal Akerman, French actress Sylvie Testud, Egyptian directorYousry Nasrallah and writer/critic Colin MacCabe.
