Bahman Naraghi has joined Miramax Films as executive vice president of finance and operations. Naraghi will oversee all aspects of the company's finance, accounting, reporting and human resources as well as supervising certain business development efforts and arranging new financial arrangements for film projects. He will report directly to co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein.

Naraghi was previously at Universal Studios where he was executive vice president of Universal Pictures responsible for integrating PolyGram Filmed Entertainment into Universal. He started as senior director of corporate development at Universal Studios from 1995 to 1997 and then was chief financial officer at Universal Pictures from 1997 to 1999.

From 1986 to 1995, Naraghi worked for Credit Lyonnais, running the media and entertainment group in Los Angeles from 1991 to 1995. He was active in rebuilding MGM Inc prior to its sale in 1996.

"We are very excited to be welcoming someone of such talent and experience to the company," said Bob Weinstein in a statement. "Bahman is the perfect person to oversee Miramax's economic and financial growth, as we continue to expand our position in the entertainment industry."
