Italy's BimDistribuzione has acquired Italian distribution rights to Gus Van Sant's Last Days, which is tipped to play incompetition at next month's Cannes Film Festival.

The picture, which is sold by HBO London, drawsinspiration from the last days in the life of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain.

Bim will releasethe film, which stars Michael Pitt, Asia Argento and Lukas Haas, on May 20.

Meanwhile, Bimalso has Italian distribution rights to Michael Haneke's Hidden, whichis also tipped for a Cannes competition slot.

The thrillerstars Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche and is produced by Austria's WegaFilm and co-produced by Bim, France's Films du Losange and Germany's BavariaFilm.

Also on Bim'supcoming co-production and distribution slate is new Monica Bellucci vehicle HowMuch Do You Love Me by Bertrand Blier, which is currently shooting inFrance.

In June, Bimwill release Italian erotic film L'Educazione Sentimentale di Eugenie,which is based on a tale by the Marquis de Sade and is directed by AurelioGrimaldi. Italian Media Service's Ugo Tucci is co-producing with Bim's ValerioDe Paolis.
