Although the official Cannes jury list will not be announced until April 23rd, the Times of India today reported that actress Aishwarya Rai has accepted an offer from Gilles Jacob to sit on this year's panel.

Quoting sources close to the Bollywood star, the Times notes that Rai would be the first Indian actress to be a member of the Cannes jury. Press officers at Cannes' Paris offices would not confirm her appointment and said all official announcements regarding Cannes' line-up and juries will be made April 23rd in Paris.

Rai was last seen in Devdas , which screened in Cannes last year. The Times also noted that the actress is in talks to possibly star in the next James Bond film.

Meanwhile, MTV Europe and Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International are joining forces in Cannes to host a party in celebration of Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines.

Star, Arnold Schwarzenegger will attend the event to be held on May 17 at Pierre Cardin's private villa, La Palais Bulles.
