Debra Granik'smarriage drama Down To The Bone won the Maverick Award for Best Feature Narrative at the 5thWoodstock Film Festival, while Amanda Micheli's Double Dare won corresponding honours in the bestfeature documentary category for its portrayal of Hollywood stuntwomen.

JessicaSharzer's high school drama Speak took the Audience Award for Feature Narrative, Nina Davenport's ParallelLines won the AudienceAward for Feature Documentary, and Mira Nair won the Honorary Maverick Award inhonour of her "fierce independence regarding art and politics".

In other awards, Frank Reynolds and Sam Neave won theMaverick Award for Excellence in Editing Narrative Feature for the Harlemdrama Unknown Soldier, Purcell Carsonwon the corresponding documentary prize for Double Dare, and Xavi Gimenez won the Haskell Wexler Award forBest Cinematography for drama The Machinist.

Taagen Swaby's Flavio took the Maverick Award for Best ShortNarrative Film, Sascha Paladino won the Maverick Award For Best ShortDocumentary for Obstinato: Making Music For Two, and Chris Landreth's Ryan won the Maverick Award for Best AnimatedShort Film.

The ElmerBernstein Award was not presented this year due to the composer's recent death,however the award will be revived for next year's festival.
