Latest Bond now up to $95.4m (£59.7m) in just over 12 days.

Following its mighty $25.7m (£16.1m) second weekend, Skyfall has swiftly become the biggest grosser of the year-to-date at the UK box office.

James Bond’s 23rd outing has now amassed $95.4m (£59.7m) through Sony - to end of Nov 7 - to topple The Dark Knight Rises’ $89.8m (£56.2m).

Skyfall also now ranks as the biggest ever Bond film in the UK, topping Casino Royale’s $88.9m (£55.6m), and rises to the ninth biggest grosser of all time in the UK.

This weekend, it’s likely to surpass Lord of the Rings: Return of the King ($97.6m/£61.1m) and LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring ($100.7m/£63m).

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli commented: “We are thrilled and proud to reach this box office landmark in record time and are delighted that UK audiences continue to enjoy Skyfall.”
