Shochiku has succeeded in finding buyers across the worldfor Japanese sci-fi fantasy Casshern.

It was bought by Studio Canal in France, Momentum Picturesin the U.K. and Ireland, Noble Entertainment in Scandinavia, I-ON New Media inGermany, Mikado Films in Italy, Bright Angel Distribution in Benelux, Lusomundoin Portugal, Audio Visual in Greece, Rialto Entertainment in Australia and NewZealand, Dawoori Entertainment in Korea, Universe Films Distribution in HongKong, Jiant in Thailand and Vietnam and Video Van in Singapore, Indonesia andMalaysia.

A deal giving DreamWorks SKG rights for the US, was signedby Shochiku last week.

The Kazuaki Kiriya-directed live action film was adaptedfrom the popular 1970's Japanese animated TV series Shinzo NingenCasshern. Released in Japan in April, thelive-action action/thriller earned over $13m (Y1.5bn) at the Japanese boxoffice.
