France's Canal+ Active has signed a VOD agreement with Fox, it was announced Friday.

The deal means new Fox releases, as well as catalogue films, will be available on Canal Plus' CanalPlay, the company's one-year old VOD service.

Canal Plus' Bruno Thibaudeau said, "We are very proud of this partnership with this legendary studio. Since its creation, CanalPlay has continuously enhanced its offer and we are pleased to provide our customers with blockbusters as well as the best library films from Twentieth Century Fox."

Fox's Peter Levinsohn, president of pay TV and digital media at Fox said, "We continue to pursue distribution opportunities which make it more convenient for consumers to access Fox content. We are very pleased to broaden our relationship with Canal Plus by providing content for its new video on demand platform."

CanalPlay was launched in October last year and now boasts relationships with Pathe, EuropaCorp., Sony-Columbia and Spyglass among others.
