Celluloid Dreams will handle internationalsales on an upcoming project from Alan Ball the company announced Thursday.

Ball is best known as thescreenwriter of American Beauty for which he won an Oscar in 2000 and as the creator of TV series Six Feet Under.

The as-yet untitled film is producedby Ted Hope on behalf of This is that and by Steven Rales' CollageCinematographie and in association with Scott Rudin Productions. Anne Cary andAnthony Bregman of This is that will executive produce with Rudin.

UTA brokered the deal and willhandle North American rights.

Ball wrote and will make hisdirectorial debut with the film which follows the adventures of Jasira, theyoung daughter of a Lebanese-American father and an American mother as shecomes of age during the Gulf War.

The film is fully financed and willcommence shooting in August 2. No cast is as-yet attached but Celluloid Dreamssaid big name talent is currently circling.

In a statement, Ball said, "The filmis a story of how we can learn to take responsibility and make choices; of howwe can avoid the roles that society imposes on us; of how we must look beneaththe surface to see how people really are."

"There has never been such completeconsensus from our team on a project at a script stage," said Celluloidpresident Hengameh Panahi.

"Alan is dealing with sexual,political and social topics that are taboo, but every detail is sowell-observed, every moment is so nuanced and every single character treatedwith such compassion that taboos are transcended."

Hope added, "It is hard to match apedigree as high as Alan, Scott, Steven and Celluloid. But I think we will whenwe finalise the cast. It's such a rich script; I unearth gems with each newreading. I've wanted to work with Celluloid for years and it really came togetherthis year."
