In the final stretch of the Academy Awards race over the weekend, Chicago dominated the Screen Actors Guild (SAG)Awards in Los Angeles taking the award for ensemble cast as well as bestactress for Renee Zellweger and best supporting actress for CatherineZeta-Jones.

Daniel Day-Lewis was named best actor for Gangs Of New York, while Christopher Walken was bestsupporting actor for Catch Me If You Can. All four winners are nominated for Oscars which will bepresented in two weeks' time on March 23.

Chicagowas not so fortunate on Saturday night at the Writers Guild Of America (WGA)Awards where Michael Moore won the best original screenplay prize for BowlingFor Columbine and DavidHare won the best adapted screenplay prize for The Hours.

The win forMoore was the first time in WGA history that a documentary had been nominated,let alone won.
