Animated UK feature Christmas Carol: The Movie is to receive its world premiere at the forthcoming Toronto Film Festival, held Sept 6-15.

The $12m Dickens adaptation is being sold internationally by the UK's Winchester Films, and is voiced by Nicolas Cage, Simon Callow, Michael Gambon, Rhys Ifans, Jane Horrocks, Juliet Stevenson and Kate Winslet, who makes her recording debut on the soundtrack..

Directed by Jimmy Murakami, the film's backers include the Film Consortium, Scala, MBP, the Film Council and Film Four.

Christmas Carol will be released in the UK by Pathe on Nov 30. Other territories sold include Spain, Portugal, Greece, Iceland, Korea, Middle East, Russia, Thailand and Taiwan.
