One of Korea's best known sales agents Mark Yoon has joined Kang Je Gyu Films, the production and sales boutique that is currently making the $13m war picture National Flag (Tae Guk Gi).

Yoon becomes head of international business at Kang Je Gyu, having for the last several years been vice president of international sales and acquisitions at Korean major CJ Entertainment. He replaces Bill Hwang who left Kang Je Gyu in July.

Yoon's new role, as head of international business, will involve him in selling the company's slate, but it is also expected to allow him to become involved in marketing and distribution issues in the domestic Korean market.

The big budget Tae Guk Gi is directed by the company's eponymous founder. Shooting was disrupted by the ravages of the recent Typhoon Maemi, but the company said yesterday that the film is still to be delivered on schedule in January.

The film was pre-sold to Universal Pictures for Japan at the Cannes festival. Other international buyers got a chance to see a second showreel at a special event during the current Pusan International Film Festival.
