Colin Farrell, Paz Vega and Christopher Lee will star in Danis Tanovic's upcoming project Triage.

The film is produced by ASAP Films and Parallel Films in co-production with Aramid Entertainment, Tornasol Films/Freeform and the Irish Film Board and Hanway Films.

Hanway Films have world sales rights and will start selling the film at Cannes.

Farrell plays Mark, a photo-journalist returning home from a dangerous assignment. When his colleague and best friend fails to return home, Mark's girlfriend, Elena (Vega), must find the clues to the mystery that's slowly killing her boyfriend.

Farrell will also be an executive producer on the film. The actor recently toured Bosnia, including Srebrenica, where 8,000 Muslims were killed when the town was captured by Bosnian Serb forces in 1995.

Tanovic's 2001 film No Man's Land won over 25 awards, including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film as well as Best Screenplay award at Cannes. The Yugoslav-born director most recently directed 'l'Enfer' (Hell) with Emmanuelle Beart, Karin Viard and Marie Gillain.

Triage will be produced by Alan Moloney of Parallel Films (Intermission, Breakfast on Pluto), Cedomir Kolar and Marc Baschet of ASAP Films (No Man's Land and the Oscar-nominated Before The Rain) in co-production with Tim Baish, Free Form and Mariela Besuievsky of Tornasol Films (Oxford Crimes).

Tanovic adapted the script from Scott Anderson's novel of the same name.

In a statement issued to the press, Kolar credited the Anthony Minghella as the godfather of the project. 'I am deeply sad he will never be able to see the completed film directed by his friend Danis Tanovic,' Kolar said.

The film will shoot on location in Ireland and at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, Spain April to June. Rai Cinema and Canal Plus have already boarded the film for Italy and France.
