Shooting began yesterday (Oct 20) on Creep, a horror film set in subterranean London starring Franka Potente (Run Lola Run, The Bourne Identity).

The debut feature of Chris Smith, Creep is produced by Julie Baines and Jason Newmark of Dan Films (The Cat's Meow, Summer Things, Butterfly Kiss) and will shoot on location in London and Cologne.

The film will be distributed in the UK by Pathe, in Germany by X-Filme, and will be sold worldwide by Capitol Films.

Creep is the story of Kate (Potente) who finds herself alone one night on an empty Underground train which jerks to a violent halt in the middle of a tunnel. Trapped in the dark, she finds she is not alone and her nightmare has only just begun.

Production design is by John Frankish, whose previous credits include Thunderbirds, Johnny English and Chocolat. The cinematographer is Daniel Cohen who recently shot Shane Meadow's Untitled and Only Human.

Creep is a Dan Films production in association with Zero West in Germany, and is backed by the UK Film Council's Premiere Fund and Filmstiftung Nordrhein-Westfalia (NRW).

Vas Blackwood (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and Sean Harris (24 Hour Party People) also star.
