Curb Entertainment has acquired international sales rights to Smooth Pictures' Nightstalker, the serial killer chiller which world premiered as a midnight movie at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

The film, to which Columbia TriStar holds US rights, was produced by Ash Shah and Chris Fisher and written and directed by Fisher. It is based on the true story of Richard Ramirez, the serial killer known as The Nightstalker, who spent his nights randomly butchering men and women in Los Angeles.

The deal was negotiated by Carole Curb and Glen Reynolds for Curb Entertainment and Phil Knowles for Smooth Pictures.
