Demonstrating a new twist on the theatrical marketing model,Universal and USA Network are teaming up to screen an unprecedented telecast ofthe uncut first 10 minutes of the forthcoming horror remake Dawn Of The Dead in the US.

Meanwhile Warner Bros and Village Roadshow are preparing to air the firstnine-minutes of the thriller Taking Lives online. Both pictures are due to open intheatres on Mar 19.

The first ten minutes of Dawn Of The Dead, a remake of George A Romero's seminal1978 horror picture, will air on USA Network on Mar 15 between 10pm and10.30pm.

Ving Rhames, Sarah Polley, Jake Weber and Mekhi Phifer star in thetale of survivors battling a zombie army directed by Zack Snyder.

"This kind of unprecedented telecast is exactly the kind ofcreative collaboration we love to offer our partners," USA Network's executivevice president and general manager Michele Ganeless said in a statement.

"It's a promotional win/win for everybody USA gets uniquecontent while Universal gains tremendous exposure for its film."

A nine-minute and eight second excerpt of D J Caruso's TakingLives will runexclusively at yahoo.com from Mar 12 until Mar 18 and will disappearpermanently from the internet a day before the picture's release.

Angelina Joliestars as an FBI agent who becomes involved with a key witness in a serialkiller investigation. The picture also stars Ethan Hawke.
