FilmLondon, the regional film agency for London, has beefed up its productionfunding activities by appointing Maggie Ellis as its first head of production.

Ellis,previously Film London's production executive, will run the body's micro-budgetdigital feature fund. She will also oversee the agency's digital shorts schemeand work with film funds run by local London boroughs.

Ellis, who will startfielding applications for the digital fund in September, has worked with newtalent across film and TV for Channel 4, the BBC, ITV and the Arts Council ofEngland.

Adrian Wootton, chiefexecutive of Film London, said: "Maggie brings an enormous wealth of experienceand huge energy to this exciting new post, which will have a direct impact onLondon's emerging filmmaking talent."
