Europa Cinemas has announced the jury for its Europa Cinemas Label award in Venice (Aug 30-Sept 9). The jury of four exhibitors willjudge the best European film in the Venice Days programme.

The jurors will be MariannePiquet from Le Rex in Chatenay-Malabry, France; Ted Chiaradia from Luxin Nijmegen, Netherlands; Kalle Somnitzwho works with several arthouse cinemas in Dusseldorf, Germany; and Rita Stella, from the SpazioCinema groupin Milan and Monza, Italy.

The winning film will bepromoted with the Europa Cinemas Network, whichincludes 664 cinemas in 59 countries. New to the prize this year isTechnicolor's support by creating five free film prints to support the Italiandistribution.

Previous winners of the Europa Cinemas Label in Venice are Hubert Sauper's Darwin's Nightmare and Xavier Beauvois' Le PetitLieutenant.
