Fahrenheit9/11 will open in twoNew York City theatres on Jun 23, two days before Michael Moore's eagerlyanticipated Palme D'Or winner opens nationwide.

Lincoln PlazaCinemas in the Upper West Side and Loews Cineplex Village in the East Villagewill screen the picture, which is being released in the US by Lions Gate, IFCFilms and Bob and Harvey Weinstein's Fellowship Adventure Group.

"The demandbecame so overwhelming that we felt it was necessary to bring the film into NewYork City early," Lions Gate Films Releasing president Tom Ortenberg said in astatement.

'TheAmerican appetite for this film has now reached a level surpassingexpectation," IFC Entertainment president Jonathan Sehring added. "We are inthe position to meet a demand in NYC and moving ahead with a plan to do so."
