Film Industry Five-A-Side Football Event, Millwall Football Stadium
Ralf Little’s Provenance Films swept to victory for the third consective year at the annual film industry five-a-side event at Millwall.
The stands were packed, the sun was out and Lionel Messi was on top form at the annual film industry five-a-side event at Millwall in aid of charity Action for Chlidren.
Well, maybe not quite like that, but the film industry were certainly out in force for a fantastic renewal of the tournament, made all the more epic by the torrential rain.
Provenance Films, aided by Ralf Little’s trusty left foot, swept to victory for the thrid year running, beating Screen International’s team 3-1 in the final.
After a loss and a draw in the group stages (and two years of heartbreak), Screen went on a run of six consecutive victories, including wins over Universal, StudioCanal, Lee and Thompson and Reprisal (featuring no-nonsense centre-back John Michael McDonagh). However, the team were no match for the mighty Provenance.
22 film companies entered the competition which raised £23,000 for the children’s charity.
Stewart Till, CEO of Sonar Entertainment, former Millwall chairman and chair of the FIFE committee which organises the event, said: “Once again it was a fantastic day. Despite the rain, the atmosphere was great and the quality of the football was very impressive. Most importantly of all, we raised over £23,000 for this exceptional charity, Action for Children.”
