Cameron Bailey becomes artistic director, TIFF, in move to streamline and integrate programming.

Toronto International Film Festival co-director Cameron Bailey has received a new title, artistic director.

Piers Handling’s title remains unchanged as director and CEO, TIFF.

“Today’s announcement is part of our ongoing efforts to become a fully integrated year-round film institution,” said Handling. “While Cameron’s responsibilities remain unchanged, I believe that his new title will support our efforts to streamline and integrate our programming across all divisions within the organization.”

Bailey and Noah Cowan, artistic director, TIFF Bell Lightbox, will be in charge of all programming offerings, both year-round and festival-specific.

“Over the past 18 months, the programming heads have been working towards finding ways to become further integrated when looking at our curatorial efforts throughout the year,” said Bailey. “This title change is one important step in this process.”
