The tenth annual Tribeca Film Festival will takes place from April 20 May 1, 2011.
Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff conceived of the festival in 2001 following the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City.
The founders wanted to spark economic and cultural regeneration of the downtown area and claim the festival has generated approximately $660m since inception.
More than 1,100 films from more than 80 countries have screened since 2002.
