Jon Vein, former chief operating officer at Film Roman, has joined Michael Ovitz's Artists Management Group (AMG) and Artists Production Group (APG) as chief operating officer.
Vein has been at Film Roman as COO since 1995 where he was responsible for overseeing all business activities of the company as well as the feature film department alongside CEO John Hyde. Prior to joining Film Roman, he was the co-founder of Dern & Vein, an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles.
AMG was formed by Ovitz with Rick Yorn and Julie Silverman-Yorn in Jan 1999 as a full-service representation company. APG is the film production division of AMG with a slate of projects including Ed Burns' Sidewalks Of New York, Michael Crichton's Timeline and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Per a joint venture struck in July 2000, StudioCanal has international rights to the films from the venture.
