Florida-based The Film Source Company has picked up worldwide rights to Nuragic Films' Italian English-language horror film The Seer.

Luigi Desole directed the tale of cult members who search for a missing element that will awaken an ancient evil.

The Seer was shot in Sardinia and is based on a screenplay by Noelle Siri and Luca Pesaro.

'[I]t won't take a seer to predict that this film will garner quite a cult following of its own,' quipped vice president of acquisitions Edward Jordon.

Alex Massis, the company president, has a wealth of experience handling horror films, including the collection of Mario Bava, one of the moviemakers identified with the Golden Age of Italian horror.

The Film Source recently acquired Stuart Urban's British documentary Tovarisch, I Am Not Dead.
