Los Angeles-based First LookMedia has acquired worldwide rights to Emmanuel's Gift, a documentary produced and directed by Lisa Lax andNancy Stern about a young disabled man from Ghana, West Africa, who rode abicycle across Ghana on one leg to eradicate the country's negative perceptionof the disabled.

FirstLook Pictures plans a domestic theatrical release in Sept 2005, while FirstLook International will handle international sales.

The deal was negotiated byFirst Look's Peter Lawson, and William Morris Independent on behalf of Lax andStern and Lookalike Productions.

The film, narrated by OprahWinfrey, tells the story of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah who sought out theCalifornia-based organization called the Challenged Athlete's Foundation (CAF)that makes grants to disabled athletes.

It has already won theaudience award for best documentary at the 2005 Cinequest and Newport Beachfilm festivals and other prizes at the Atlanta and Artivist festivals.
