First Look Pictures hasacquired North American rights to Roberta Torre's Italian drama Angela which had its world premiere in Directors Fortnightat the Cannes Film Festival this year and recently played in the TorontoInternational Film Festival. First Look Pictures president MJ Peckos negotiatedthe deal for the film with sales agent Adriana Chiesa of Adriana ChiesaEnterprises.

Angela stars DonatellaFinocchiaro as Angela, the wife of a much older Mafioso drug dealer, who fallsfor his new right hand man. Co-stars are Andrea Di Stefano and Mario Pupella.

'Angela breaks themold of traditional Mafia stories, which are usually told from a malepoint-of-view, and blooms into a passionate love story,' said Peckos in astatement. 'Angela looks at this world from a completely differentperspective due to the wonderful direction of Roberta Torre and terrificperformances by Donatella Finocchiaro and Andrea Di Stefano.'

First Look grossed over $5mwith its Italian romance Bread And Tulips last year; its current releasesinclude Chris Eyre's Skins,Neil Hunter and Tom Hunsinger's Lawless Heart and documentary on Federico Fellini Fellini:I'm A Born Liar.
