Fortissimo Filmshad a busy Cannes closing deals with several distributors the company hasn'tworked with before including Svensk which took Scandinavian rights to MarcEvans' Snow Cake.

The company alsosold The Night Listener,starring Robin Williams, to Italy's Videa and Tsui Hark's martial arts epic SevenSwords to Filmax inSpain.

Snow Cake and The Night Listener join a growing slate of English-languageproduct handled by Fortissimo.

"I think this market confirmed thatwe've evolved into a different kind of player," said Fortissimo co-chairmanMichael Werner. "A few years ago you'd be hard pressed to find anyEnglish-language titles in our line-up and this year we had two that wereattracting a great deal of interest in the market."

Meanwhile, Fortissimoalso sold Wang Xiaoshuai's competition title Shanghai Dreams to ARP for France, Teodora for Italy andMonolith for Poland. Monolith also took The Night Listener which had been sold to a raft ofterritories earlier in the market including the UK's Icon FilmDistribution.
