Fox International began its international roll-out of Daredevil over the weekend, grossing $3.6m from 440 screens in two markets. In the UK, the Marvel Comics adaptation fared slightly below expectations, opening with $3.2m on 384 screens in second place behind holdover Two Weeks Notice. In Puerto Rico the picture grossed $481,000 from 56 screens. This weekend the picture is due to open in Jamaica, The Philippines and Malaysia.

Meanwhile Solaris recorded a strong bow in Spain, where the sci-fi drama took $1.05m from 202 screens and opened in third place. In Poland it opened on $164,000 from 30 screens, while Greece yielded $93,000 from 14 screens. Solaris grossed $1.3m on 246 screens over the weekend for an international running total of $1.35m.

Fox's romantic comedy Just Married grossed $1.1m on 380 screens. In New Zealand it took $152,000 on 35 screens. The picture has a $4.1m international running total.

Die Another Day added another $1.7m from 900 screens in all international territories for a $235.6m cumulative score. Studio executives are hoping the picture will finish in the $265m-$270m region.
