Seven newfilms broke into the top twenty this week led by Gaumont's L'Enquete Corse, starring Gerard Depardieu and Christian Claver.The film took 679,754 admissions for an average of $9,477 per screen.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse landed in the number 2 spot with atake of just over $3m. Michael Mann's Collateralfought off other new-comers but dropped to number three followed by French filmVipere Au Poing at number 4.

Canneswinner Look At Me moved to the number5 spot with a drop off of just 33%.

Moving daycomedy Le Carton was number 6followed by Michel Gondry's EternalSunshine Of The Spotless Mind at number 7 for 158,850 admissions. Frenchcoming of age dramedy La Premiere FoisQue J'ai Eu 20 ans was number 9 with a middling 86,966 admissions. The Story Of The Weeping Camel landed atnumber 11 to round out the new entries.
