New features by Cedric Kahn, Bourlem Guerdjou, Pan Nalin andEmmanuelle Bercot have been awarded over Euros 1m by the Franco-German FundingCommittee as part of the "mini-treaty" co-production fund.

The largest amount - Euros 300,000 - was granted by the GermanFederal Film Board (FFA) to Nalin's ValleyOf Flowers which is a German majority co-production between Pandora Filmand Paris-based Elzevir Films, with Euros 150,000 coming from France's CNC.

The other three projects were all French majority co-productions.Guerdjou's Zaina, produced by RezoProductions with Munich-based Prokino Filmproduktion, and Bercot's Backstage, produced by Haut et Courtwith Christoph Meyer-Wiel's Berlin-based CMW Film Company, both received Euros65,000 each from the FFA and Euros 150,000 from the CNC. Meanwhile, Kahn's L'Avion, which will be produced byFidelite with Dirk Beinhold's Berlin-based Akkord Film Produktion, was awardedEuros 65,000 from the FFA and Euros 100,000 from the CNC.

The "mini-treaty" co-production fund was launchedby the FFA and CNC in 2001 with an annual budget of Euros 3m to promote andintensify co-production between France and Germany.
