French foreign sales outfit President Films is set to disappear as France Television Distribution, the film and television rights trading division of public broadcasters France 2, France 3 and France 5, restructures its activities.

Following the departure of Hugo Bergson-Vuillaume, former head of President Films who left the company at the end of June, FTD International's film sales will now be handled directly under the FTD International banner.

Claudia Rae-Colombani, who used to head the speciality side of President Films, becomes deputy manager, in charge of international film sales, Herve Michel, who heads FTD's television programmes sales, will also handle the sales of television rights to FTD's theatrical titles in French-speaking territories.

The two departments will come under the supervision of Jean-Paul Commin, who also currently heads FTD's home video, music and publishing activities.

President Films has been handling foreign sales on such titles as Travelling Birds the $25m documentary from the team who produced Microcosmos, French action comedy Le Boulet as well as Yvan Attal's romantic flick Ma Femme Est Une Actrice which has been sold in the US to Sony Picture Classics.
