Berenice Fugard has joined Paramount's specialty division as vicepresident of acquisitions and co-productions. She comes to the studio afterseven years as head of acquisitions at Pathe Distribution in the UK. Prior tothat, she was acquisitions executive from 1997 to 1999.

Fugard (pictured) will continue to be based in London and reports toexecutive vice president of production and acquisitions Amy Israel.

"Berenice's track record speaks for itself," Israelsaid. "Her excellent taste and stellar reputation make her a greataddition to the acquisitions team."

During her time at Pathe her acquisition credits included Memento,House Of Flying Daggers, Transamerica, Crash and The Blair Witch Project. She also co-produced Pathe's blackcomedy Big Nothing.

Prior to that she worked at Portobello Pictures in London for twoyears.
