Miramax veteranMaeva Gatineau has been promoted to senior vice president of acquisitions.

Gatineau willcontinue to oversee European acquisitions from the company's UK offices, whereshe has been based for the past seven years, reporting to executive vicepresident of acquisitions and co-productions Agnes Mentre.

UK-based directorof European acquisitions Emil Elmer and director of acquisitions Chiara Trento willreport to Gatineau.

"Maeva has beeninstrumental in the success of the acquisitions department at Miramax," Mentresaid in a statement.

"Herrelationships in Europe and her flawless taste make her an invaluable asset tothe company."

Gatineau played akey role in Miramax's recent acquisitions of Dear Frankie, Zatoichi,Les Choristes and Denys Arcand's best foreign language Academy Awardwinner The Barbarian Invasions.

She most recentlyserved as vice president of acquisitions after arriving at Miramax seven yearsago from the French university of La Sorbonne, where she gained her masters lawdegree.
